Palmer Wade is a partnership of Camilla Palmer and Joanna Wade.
Melanie Thomas, Solicitor, is the third member of the legal team.
Anne-Marie Keary is the practice manager and is responsible for running the office.
We are a specialist firm of solicitors and are experts in our field. We advise and represent clients who have suffered discrimination because of their sex, marital status, gender re-assignment, race, disability, age, sexual orientation or religion.
We also act for responsible employers who are committed to equal opportunities and the elimination of discrimination at their workplace. We are panel solicitors for the Equal Opportunities Commission and for the Disability Rights Commission.
Between them Camilla and Joanna have written the leading text books on discrimination in employment and maternity rights, the Equal Opportunities Commission's website on maternity rights and flexible working and numerous articles on discrimination law. Camilla and Joanna are both part-time chairs of Employment Tribunals.
Most of our clients need to litigate no further than an Employment Tribunal (and many cases settle before they get there). However, we have experience of appellate work in the Employment Appeal Tribunal, the Court of Appeal and the European Court of Justice.
In addition to our case work and writing, we train employers, lawyers, unions and the voluntary sector. We also work with the Equal Opportunities Commission, unions and voluntary organisations to try to clarify the law and where necessary improve protection against discrimination.
Palmer Wade work with experienced consultants from time to time including Sara Leslie a solicitor, and Alex Heron, an expert in comparative international discrimination law. |
